Hilltop Mid-Century Addition + REnovation

Many mid-century homes in Denver are known for having small bedrooms, closed off kitchens, and less-than-desired bathroom space.  The same was true for this 1952 ranch-style house in the Hilltop neighborhood. The owners of this home came to Cult Creative hoping to create a better primary suite, and open up their existing floor plan to allow for more connected entertaining, and we did just that.  Expanding an existing bedroom allowed us to create a true primary suite with a large walk-in closet, ensuite bathroom and a more spacious bedroom – transforming the home from a 3 bedroom, 1.75 bathroom into a 3 bedroom, 2.75 bathroom.  We also renovated the existing kitchen, bringing down the walls between the kitchen and the dining and living room areas.  The interior design for the new kitchen features muted tones at the cabinets, terrazzo countertops, and a vertical wood accent detail at the backside of the peninsula and surrounding the new laundry closet. The devil is in the details, no matter how subtle, with touches of desert style throughout this home from the terracotta star-and-cross floor tile in the bathroom to the bamboo cabinet pulls in the kitchen; we just love every square inch.
